This construction was created by the Standard EPAL of Kryas Vrysi in the context of the actions of the Circular Economy. The increase in the number of students of the school, the conversion of the
in Standard EPAL and the new equipment such as the interactive whiteboards that
replaced the old ones with a marker, created new conditions in the
school.
The classes of the school were organised so that they all sat together in a circle and
to work in groups, while the new computer equipment in the
halls created the need to place them on benches. Also, the children
asked for extra benches inside the school to sit with their friends.
All of this was discussed for the Engineering Department.
Then they went to the school's warehouse and what they found there became their inspiration.
Desks and chairs that could not be used in the classroom due to wear and tear,
wooden doors that had been replaced with metal ones, old chalkboards and
marker boards. All materials were to be discarded.
With all these materials, screws and appropriate tools were manufactured:
work and teaching benches
computer benches
benches and other small structures (e.g. hangers)
The idea of reusing products to meet the needs of the school
and give new use to objects that are worn out or not useful
now occupies the school every year.
Nothing needs to be thrown away!
