The social cooperative enterprise “Eco Active” is excited to present its new project titled “The ChangeMakers.” This initiative aims to offer innovative and sustainable solutions to local challenges while considering the common good and serving social interests.
Youth unemployment is a growing issue across Europe, with rates exceeding 50% in countries like Greece.Social entrepreneurship presents a promising alternative, offering new opportunities and tools for local economic growth.
“The ChangeMakers” will bring together staff from social enterprises and NGOs, along with young people from our partner countries.This project will facilitate training, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices in youth employability through social entrepreneurship by 5 partner organizations and 25 participants from Greece, Latvia, Italy, Germany, and Finland. During the 7-day training course - from April 10th to April 18th, 2022 in Thasos, Greece, participants will interact with youth workers and social enterprise staff to create effective conditions for change.
Our goal is twofold:
- Empower Youth: Equip young people with the skills they need to become active contributors to their local communities and economies, addressing high unemployment rates.
- Build Connections: Foster strong relationships, partnerships, and networks among NGOs and social enterprises working on youth unemployment and social inclusion.
Together, we will explore and discuss youth unemployment, raise awareness of opportunities, and exchange innovative practices for youth employability through social entrepreneurship. Participants will also have the chance to visit local social enterprises, inspiring creativity and discovering new ways to forge their own career paths.
