The innovative zEROwASTER's programme, implemented under the "Innovative Solutions for Citizens" initiative with funding from the Green Fund, continues to bring significant changes to our community.
This time, the programme took a step towards sustainable mobility by creating a bicycle parking space in the courtyard of the 2nd EPAL Komotini. This initiative provides students with the opportunity to adopt alternative, environmentally friendly ways of accessing the school, in line with the programme's objective of promoting environmental awareness and action.
The bicycle parking area, designed by the social enterprise EcoActive, has a capacity of 60 bicycles. It is a small but essential step towards fostering sustainable habits among students and creating a culture of responsibility and environmental awareness.
"The goal is to provide students with the right opportunities to make sustainable choices," said the project coordinator. "Without these choices, we are not contributing to the overall promotion of sustainable mobility and environmental education."
The project will be officially presented during the Multidisciplinary Week (07-11 April 2025), a week dedicated to learning and raising awareness of environmental and social issues.
Stay tuned and let's build a greener future together!
