On 8 April 2025, in the context of the multidisciplinary week "Environmental Awareness Week - Become a Zerowaster", 25 students of the 2nd EPAL Komotini visited the premises of ADAPA Komotini, participating in an educational activity full of knowledge, hands-on experience and environmental stimuli.
The action took place in the framework of the programme ZeroWaste Hackers, with the aim of strengthening the environmental awareness and informing students about the principles of sustainable development, of circular economy and of green professions.
During the visit, the students were shown around the production facilities of ADAPA and had the opportunity to closely follow the plastic packaging creation process. The company's managers presented in a simple and understandable way the environmental challenges of the sector, as well as the efforts made to strengthen recycling and reduce the environmental footprint.
The experience included discussion with professionals, hands-on activities, as well as information on the green professional outlets related to innovation, industry and environmental protection.
After the visit, the students enjoyed a short snack break, exchanging impressions and ideas for a Zero Waste lifestyle.
Η linking education to the real needs of the planet and local society is at the core of the philosophy of the programme EcoWeek25. The participants demonstrated that environmental responsibility can start at school and can be transformed into social action and professional inspiration.
